Kessell, “Thirty-nine year-old Lieutenant Pedro Sebastian de Villascusa commanded [a Company of Pimas in 1783]. He had come up through the ranks of the infantry of Granada in Spain. As first ensign of the Sonora presidio of Santa Cruz he had seen plenty of action against Apaches.”) By 1796 Pedro would have been 52 years old.

Names are translated as they appear in the record. This is important when looking into names in Spanish; for instance that Valdenegro and Baldenegro are the same name, as is Verdugo and Berdugo, or for first names Ygnacio and Ignacio. At this time names are for more frequently spelled with a Y not an I; although the contemporary spelling is with an I. Other expamples would be Ysabel vs Isabel or Ysidro vs Isidro.
